In the European Union, all member states are responsible for their educational and training systems; the EU policy is supposed to support the steps taken at national level and to help address common challenges such as population aging, lack of skilled workers, technological developments and global competition. In Romania, the educational system has required an ongoing reform meant to ensure a balance among quality, equity, diversity and competence at central and local levels.
